Enclosed-emitter optics solve a real problem: rain, lint, dust, holster carbon, and pocket debris cannot reach the emitter, so the dot does not wash out when the weather turns or the optic spends the day inside a concealment garment. The trade-off has historically been bulk. Most enclosed-emitter pistol optics are built for full-size duty pistols and look like small bricks on a subcompact slide. The C&H Precision EDC Enclosed solves that. It uses the industry-standard RMSc footprint that fits subcompact and compact carry-class slides, with a 21mm sealed window in a 1.23-ounce single-piece 7075-T6 aluminum housing rated for +P and +P+ recoil and sealed to IPX7. It is the lineup's purpose-built enclosed-emitter concealed-carry optic.

The EDC Enclosed ships in two reticle-color variants, both on the same RMSc footprint: a Red Multi-Reticle and a Green Multi-Reticle, identically priced and identically specced apart from emitter color. Both variants direct-mount to the Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro, Smith & Wesson Shield 2.0, Glock 43X / 48 MOS, and SIG SAUER P365 (M4-threaded optic cuts only). If your slide already has an RMSc cut or you carry one of those four pistols, the EDC Enclosed drops on without an adapter.

Two minor weaknesses are worth surfacing rather than letting you discover them after purchase. First, the lens carries a slight blue tint from the notch filter that tunes the optic for a clean dot under bright sunlight. Travis Pike noted it in his Shooting Wire review and again in his AmmoLand follow-up; Jason Mosher confirmed it in his Inside Safariland review. The trade-off is what gives you a crisp dot in full sun, and all three reviewers reported it does not affect target acquisition or zero retention. Second, the side-loaded battery door uses a small flathead fastener that Mosher described as easy to drop during a battery change. The side-loaded design itself is the value here, since you can swap batteries without dismounting the optic and re-zeroing; on a 50,000-hour battery you are doing this roughly every 5.7 years, which is a small enough cadence that taking the swap slowly over a tray is the right call.

For shooters building out a training pistol on a subcompact platform, or running drills on a carry pistol they will eventually carry concealed, the price-to-spec ratio is hard to match without dropping into the budget tier where build quality starts to compromise.

Night Vision Operators

Brightness levels 1 and 2 are NV compatible, allowing the EDC Enclosed to be used with passive NV devices without washing out the reticle on a host platform configured for low-light operations.

Compatibility

The C&H Precision EDC Enclosed uses the RMSc footprint, the industry-standard micro-compact pattern supported across the carry-class pistol market. Both variants (Red Multi-Reticle and Green Multi-Reticle) share the same RMSc footprint and the same direct-mount compatibility list:

• Direct mount, no adapter needed: Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro (M4 x 10mm screws), Smith & Wesson Shield 2.0 (M4 x 12mm screws), Glock 43X / 48 MOS (M4 x 10mm screws), SIG SAUER P365 with M4-threaded optic cuts (M4 x 12mm screws). For SIG P365 slides with M3-threaded optic cuts, the C&H Direct Mount Optic Screw Kit for SIG P365 is required.
• Broader RMSc compatibility: any optics-ready slide with an RMSc cut, including the standard SIG P365, Walther PPS, and most other micro-compact carry-class slides. RMSc-cut adapter plates and custom-milled RMSc-footprint slides also work.
• For pistols without a factory RMSc cut, C&H Precision offers slide milling services and RMSc-footprint adapter plates for most major pistol platforms.
