Built for concealed carriers who want enclosed-emitter durability without the brick on top of their slide

Enclosed-emitter optics solve a real problem: rain, lint, dust, holster carbon, and pocket debris cannot reach the emitter, so the dot does not wash out when the weather turns or the optic spends the day inside a concealment garment. The trade-off has historically been bulk. Most enclosed-emitter pistol optics are built for full-size duty pistols and look like small bricks on a subcompact slide. The C&H Precision EDC Enclosed solves that. It uses the industry-standard RMSc footprint that fits subcompact and compact carry-class slides, with a 21mm sealed window in a 1.23-ounce single-piece 7075-T6 aluminum housing rated for +P and +P+ recoil and sealed to IPX7. It is the lineup's purpose-built enclosed-emitter concealed-carry optic.

The EDC Enclosed ships in two reticle-color variants, both on the same RMSc footprint: a Red Multi-Reticle and a Green Multi-Reticle, identically priced and identically specced apart from emitter color. Both variants direct-mount to the Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro, Smith & Wesson Shield 2.0, Glock 43X / 48 MOS, and SIG SAUER P365 (M4-threaded optic cuts only). If your slide already has an RMSc cut or you carry one of those four pistols, the EDC Enclosed drops on without an adapter.

Pricing context. The EDC Enclosed launched in October 2024 at $275.00 MSRP across both reticle-color variants, as documented in C&H Precision's official launch announcement on The Outdoor Wire. At 2A Daddy's current $249.95, the EDC Enclosed has come down roughly 9% from launch pricing as the product matures past its introduction window. It now sits at parity with manufacturer-direct and Tier 1 distributor pricing, with the same full warranty and same return policy you would get buying anywhere else.

Key Features

  • Fully Enclosed Emitter. The emitter sits inside a sealed housing, protected from rain, dust, lint, holster carbon, and the pocket debris that washes out open-emitter dots in real-world carry. The reason most defensive shooters move to enclosed designs once they have run an open-emitter optic through a wet day or a dusty range.
  • 21mm Sealed Window. A genuine sight picture in a footprint that fits subcompact and compact carry-class slides. Wide enough to find the dot fast under pressure, compact enough to keep the housing from looking like a brick on top of a small pistol.
  • 2.5 MOA Dot with 34 MOA Circle Multi-Reticle. Both variants ship with a multi-reticle configuration: a 2.5 MOA precision dot, a 34 MOA circle for fast close-range pickup, or both together. Press and hold the up arrow to swap between modes. The Red variant illuminates red, the Green variant illuminates green.
  • RMSc Footprint. Drops onto any optics-ready slide with an RMSc cut, the most widely supported micro-compact footprint in the pistol-optic market. Direct-mount supported on the Springfield Hellcat Pro, S&W Shield 2.0, Glock 43X / 48 MOS, and SIG P365 (M4-threaded cuts).
  • 1.23 oz with Battery. Light enough to carry comfortably on a subcompact slide. The streamlined enclosed housing has no sharp protrusions or snag points to catch on a concealment garment during the draw.
  • 50,000-Hour Battery Life. A single CR1620 cell runs the optic for over 5.7 years of continuous use on the lowest setting. Most carriers will replace the battery roughly twice in a decade.
  • Side-Loaded Battery Tray. The battery tray loads from the side of the housing rather than requiring you to pull the optic off the slide. You can swap batteries without dismounting the optic and re-zeroing.
  • Motion-Activated Shake Awake. The EDC Enclosed powers on instantly when it detects movement. No buttons to press in a defensive draw, no wake-up lag, no dead dot when you present.
  • 10 Brightness Settings with NV Compatibility. Levels 1 and 2 are night vision compatible for low-light and NV-equipped users. The remaining 8 levels span typical daylight to full-sun bright conditions.
  • Tactile Audible Adjustments. Elevation and windage clicks at 1 MOA per click, both tactile and audible. A meaningful difference from silent-click optics in this price tier when zeroing in the field.
  • Integrated Rear Sight Notch. A rear sight notch is milled into the housing for emergency co-witness with iron sights, which matters if the dot ever fails on a defensive carry pistol.
  • Rated for +P and +P+ Loads. Built to survive high-pressure defensive ammunition, which is what most concealed carriers actually run for personal defense rather than range fodder.
  • IPX7 Waterproof. Fully submersible to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Rain, sweat under a concealment garment, and weather are not failure modes.
  • 7075-T6 Single-Piece Housing. CNC-machined from one piece of aircraft-grade aluminum. Independent third-party testing by Travis Pike at AmmoLand included chest-high drops on multiple sides plus a 1-meter water dunk; the optic held zero through both, with a 5-shot 2-inch group at the zero distance afterward.
  • Made in the USA. Manufactured domestically by C&H Precision Weapons in Richmond Hill, Georgia.
  • C&H Precision Optics Warranty. The metal housing and optical glass are covered for the life of the product against defects in materials. The LED illumination system is warranted for 5 years from the manufacture date. Registration with C&H Precision is required to validate.

Two minor weaknesses are worth surfacing rather than letting you discover them after purchase. First, the lens carries a slight blue tint from the notch filter that tunes the optic for a clean dot under bright sunlight. Travis Pike noted it in his Shooting Wire review and again in his AmmoLand follow-up; Jason Mosher confirmed it in his Inside Safariland review. The trade-off is what gives you a crisp dot in full sun, and all three reviewers reported it does not affect target acquisition or zero retention. Second, the side-loaded battery door uses a small flathead fastener that Mosher described as easy to drop during a battery change. The side-loaded design itself is the value here, since you can swap batteries without dismounting the optic and re-zeroing; on a 50,000-hour battery you are doing this roughly every 5.7 years, which is a small enough cadence that taking the swap slowly over a tray is the right call.

Who the EDC Enclosed Is For

Concealed Carriers Who Want Enclosed-Emitter Reliability

The EDC Enclosed's reason for being. The 21mm sealed window protects the emitter from the rain, lint, holster carbon, and pocket debris that washes out open-emitter dots in real-world daily carry. The 1.23-ounce weight, low-profile housing, and snag-free corners keep it carryable on a subcompact slide. The +P and +P+ rating matches the defensive ammunition concealed carriers actually run. The RMSc footprint fits the most common micro-compact carry pistols including the Sig P365, Hellcat Pro, Shield 2.0, Walther PPS, and Glock 43X / 48 MOS. Every spec was tuned for everyday carry on a small pistol where weather and debris are real failure modes.

Home Defense and Off-Duty Use

For armed citizens who want one optic that runs both their concealed carry pistol and their home-defense pistol, the EDC Enclosed's IPX7 waterproof rating, +P+ recoil rating, sealed housing, and 7075-T6 single-piece construction put it on the right side of the toughness equation for defensive use. The integrated rear sight notch gives you an emergency co-witness if the dot ever fails when it matters most.

Range and Training on a Carry-Class Pistol

At 2A Daddy's current $249.95 price, the EDC Enclosed is one of the lower-cost paths into a quality enclosed-emitter pistol optic from a USA manufacturer. For shooters building out a training pistol on a subcompact platform, or running drills on a carry pistol they will eventually carry concealed, the price-to-spec ratio is hard to match without dropping into the budget tier where build quality starts to compromise.

Night Vision Operators

Brightness levels 1 and 2 are NV compatible, allowing the EDC Enclosed to be used with passive NV devices without washing out the reticle on a host platform configured for low-light operations.

Compatibility

The C&H Precision EDC Enclosed uses the RMSc footprint, the industry-standard micro-compact pattern supported across the carry-class pistol market. Both variants (Red Multi-Reticle and Green Multi-Reticle) share the same RMSc footprint and the same direct-mount compatibility list:

  • Direct mount, no adapter needed: Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro (M4 x 10mm screws), Smith & Wesson Shield 2.0 (M4 x 12mm screws), Glock 43X / 48 MOS (M4 x 10mm screws), SIG SAUER P365 with M4-threaded optic cuts (M4 x 12mm screws). For SIG P365 slides with M3-threaded optic cuts, the C&H Direct Mount Optic Screw Kit for SIG P365 is required.
  • Broader RMSc compatibility: any optics-ready slide with an RMSc cut, including the standard SIG P365, Walther PPS, and most other micro-compact carry-class slides. RMSc-cut adapter plates and custom-milled RMSc-footprint slides also work.
  • For pistols without a factory RMSc cut, C&H Precision offers slide milling services and RMSc-footprint adapter plates for most major pistol platforms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the C&H Precision EDC Enclosed good for concealed carry?

Yes. The EDC Enclosed was purpose-built for concealed carry with enclosed-emitter durability against rain, lint, holster carbon, and pocket debris. Its 1.23-ounce weight, low-profile snag-free housing, RMSc footprint that fits subcompact carry-class slides, and +P and +P+ recoil rating for defensive ammunition all reflect a CCW-first design.

Why an enclosed emitter for a concealed carry optic?

Open-emitter optics expose the emitter to weather and debris, and lint or moisture between the emitter and the lens can wash out the dot when you need it. An enclosed emitter seals the housing and removes that failure mode. For carry pistols that ride inside a concealment garment all day, the enclosed format is the more reliable choice for daily defensive use.

What is the difference between the EDC Enclosed and the EDC?

Both share the RMSc footprint and the C&H Precision build standard, but they target different priorities. The EDC Enclosed has a sealed enclosed-emitter housing, a 21mm window, weighs 1.23 ounces, and runs a CR1620 battery. The EDC is the lighter, smaller, lower-priced open-emitter option at 0.6 ounces with a 16mm window on a CR1632. Choose the EDC Enclosed for weather and debris resistance; choose the EDC for the lightest, smallest, lowest-priced option in the lineup.

What pistols is the EDC Enclosed compatible with?

Direct mount with included screws on the Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro, Smith & Wesson Shield 2.0, Glock 43X / 48 MOS, and SIG SAUER P365 (M4-threaded optic cuts). Beyond those, any pistol with an RMSc-cut slide is compatible, including the standard SIG P365 family, Walther PPS, and most other micro-compact optics-ready carry pistols. For non-RMSc-cut pistols, C&H Precision offers slide milling services and direct-mount adapter plates.

Where is the C&H Precision EDC Enclosed made?

The C&H Precision EDC Enclosed is made in the USA. C&H Precision Weapons manufactures its optics domestically at its facility in Richmond Hill, Georgia.

What comes in the box with the C&H Precision EDC Enclosed?

The EDC Enclosed ships with the optic, a CR1620 battery, mounting screws, a mounting tool, a lens cloth, and product documentation. If you need specific hardware for your slide or adapter plate, Contact our team before ordering.

Does the EDC Enclosed work with night vision?

Yes. Brightness settings 1 and 2 are night vision compatible, allowing the EDC Enclosed to be used with passive NV devices without washing out the reticle.

How long does the battery last on the EDC Enclosed?

Up to 50,000 hours on the lowest brightness setting, using a single CR1620 3V lithium battery. That is approximately 5.7 years of continuous use before battery replacement. The battery tray loads from the side of the housing, so you can swap batteries without removing the optic from the slide and re-zeroing.

Does the EDC Enclosed require an FFL to purchase?

No. Optics are not regulated firearms and ship directly to your address in all 50 states. No FFL transfer required.

What is the warranty on the EDC Enclosed, and how are claims handled?

The EDC Enclosed is covered by C&H Precision's Optics Warranty. The metal housing and optical glass are warranted for the life of the product against defects in materials under normal, personal use. The LED illumination system is warranted for 5 years from the manufacture date. Warranty validation requires product registration with C&H Precision. Dealer-sold products, including purchases from 2A Daddy, receive the same full replacement warranty coverage as products sold direct by C&H.
