Built for concealed carriers who want a real red dot, not a compromise on size

Most micro red dots ask you to choose: a tiny tube that fits a subcompact slide but fights you for the dot under stress, or a serious optic that adds bulk you cannot carry concealed. The C&H Precision EDC was built around the RMSc footprint that fits subcompact slides cleanly, with a 16mm window that gives you a real sight picture, in a 0.6-ounce single-piece 7075-T6 aluminum housing rated for +P and +P+ recoil and sealed to IPX7. It is the lineup's purpose-built concealed-carry optic, and that is reflected in every design choice.

The EDC ships in two footprint options: the standard RMSc footprint, which is the industry-standard cut for micro-compact optics-ready slides like the Sig P365, Springfield Hellcat, S&W Shield Plus, and Walther PPS, and the GLX-RMSc footprint, which fits Compact Glock G43X and G48 MOS cuts only. If your slide already has an RMSc cut or you carry a G43X or G48 MOS, the EDC drops on without an adapter.

Pricing context. At its SHOT Show 2023 launch, the EDC sold for $291.95 to $347.95 across variants, as documented in Gun Mag Warehouse's Mag Life launch review. At 2A Daddy's current $199.95 for the standard Red and $229.95 for Multi-Reticle variants, the EDC has come down roughly 31% to 34% from its launch range. That kind of post-launch compression on a well-regarded RMSc-footprint carry optic is uncommon, and it makes the current window a buying moment worth noting.

Key Features

  • 16mm Lens Window. A genuine sight picture in a footprint that fits subcompact slides. Wide enough to find the dot fast, small enough to disappear under a concealment garment.
  • 3 MOA Precision Dot, with Multi-Reticle Options. The standard 3 MOA dot balances close-range pickup with practical accuracy. Multi-Reticle variants add a 26 MOA circle around the dot for faster close-range acquisition, available in red or green.
  • RMSc Footprint, plus a Glock-Specific GLX Variant. The RMSc variants drop onto any optics-ready slide with an RMSc cut, the most widely supported footprint for micro-compact pistols. The GLX variant fits Compact Glock G43X and G48 MOS cuts directly, no adapter required.
  • 0.6 oz with Battery. Light enough that it disappears on a subcompact slide. The streamlined housing has no sharp edges or snag points to catch on a concealment garment during the draw.
  • 50,000-Hour Battery Life. A single CR1632 cell runs the optic for over 5.7 years of continuous use on the lowest setting.
  • Side-Loaded Battery Tray. The battery tray loads from the side of the housing, accessed with a small flat-head screwdriver. You can swap batteries without removing the optic from the slide and re-zeroing.
  • Motion-Activated Shake Awake. The EDC powers on instantly when it detects movement. No buttons to press in a defensive draw, no wake-up lag, no dead dot when you present.
  • 10 Brightness Settings with NV Compatibility. Levels 1 and 2 are night vision compatible for low-light and NV-equipped users.
  • Tactile Audible Adjustments. Elevation and windage clicks are tactile and audible, a meaningful difference from silent-click optics in this price tier when zeroing in the field.
  • Integrated Rear Sight Notch. A rear sight notch is milled into the housing for emergency co-witness with iron sights, which matters if the dot ever fails on a defensive carry pistol.
  • Rated for +P and +P+ Loads. Built to survive high-pressure defensive ammunition, which is what most concealed carriers actually run for personal defense.
  • IPX7 Waterproof. Fully submersible to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Rain, sweat under a concealment garment, and weather are not failure modes.
  • 7075-T6 Single-Piece Housing. CNC-machined from one piece of aircraft-grade aluminum. Independent third-party drop-testing on a gravel range floor by Athlon Outdoors did not phase or scratch the unit.
  • Made in the USA. Manufactured domestically by C&H Precision Weapons in Richmond Hill, Georgia.
  • C&H Precision Optics Warranty. The metal housing and optical glass are covered for the life of the product against defects in materials. The LED illumination system is warranted for 5 years from the manufacture date. Registration with C&H Precision is required to validate.

Independent reviewers have noted a slight lens distortion when panning side to side on the EDC. We have noticed it as well. It is minor enough that it does not affect target acquisition or zero retention in normal carry use, and we mention it here for full transparency rather than have you discover it after purchase.

Who the EDC Is For

Concealed Carriers

The EDC's reason for being. The 0.6-ounce weight, the 16mm window in a low-profile housing, the snag-free corners, the +P and +P+ rating that matches the defensive ammunition concealed carriers actually run, and the RMSc footprint that fits the Sig P365, Hellcat, Shield Plus, Walther PPS, and similar carry-class slides. Every spec of the EDC was tuned for everyday carry on a subcompact pistol. The product name is not marketing language. It is what the optic was built for.

Home Defense and Off-Duty Use

For armed citizens who want one optic that runs both their concealed carry pistol and their home-defense pistol, the EDC's IPX7 waterproof rating, +P+ recoil rating, and 7075-T6 single-piece housing put it on the right side of the toughness equation. The integrated rear sight notch gives you an emergency co-witness if the dot ever fails when it matters.

Range and Training

At 2A Daddy's current $199.95 starting price, the EDC is one of the lowest-cost paths into a quality micro red dot from a USA manufacturer. For shooters building out a dedicated training pistol or a range gun on a subcompact platform, that price-to-performance ratio is hard to beat without dropping into the budget tier where build quality starts to compromise.

Night Vision Operators

Brightness levels 1 and 2 are NV compatible, allowing the EDC to be used with passive NV devices without washing out the reticle on a host platform configured for low-light operations.

Short answer: Pick the EDC if you are carrying concealed on a subcompact and want the lightest, most snag-free profile in the C&H lineup at the lowest price point. Pick the COMP if you want the larger 27mm window for range or competition without paying for the COMP Max's premium spec. Pick the COMP Max if you need the 28mm window plus 2 MOA precision dot for serious competition use.

Compatibility

The C&H Precision EDC ships in two footprint variants. Pick the one that matches your slide:

  • RMSc footprint variants (Red 3 MOA, Red Multi-Reticle, Green Multi-Reticle): industry-standard RMSc cut, supported by most micro-compact optics-ready slides including the Sig P365 family, Springfield Hellcat (with RMSc cut), S&W M&P Shield Plus, Walther PPS, and similar subcompact carry-class platforms. RMSc-cut adapter plates and custom-milled RMSc-footprint slides also work.
  • GLX-RMSc footprint variant (Red 3 MOA only): fits Compact Glock G43X and G48 MOS cuts only. This is a Glock-specific footprint and is not interchangeable with the standard RMSc variants. If you carry a G43X or G48 MOS, this is the variant to order.
  • For pistols without a factory RMSc cut, C&H Precision offers slide milling services and direct-mount adapter plates for most major pistol platforms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the C&H Precision EDC good for concealed carry?

Yes. The EDC was purpose-built for concealed carry. Its 0.6-ounce weight, low-profile snag-free housing, RMSc footprint that fits subcompact carry-class slides, and +P and +P+ recoil rating for defensive ammunition all reflect a CCW-first design. It is the dedicated concealed-carry optic in C&H Precision's lineup.

Which EDC variant should I get: GLX or RMSC?

Pick the GLX variant only if you carry a Compact Glock G43X or G48 with the MOS cut. The GLX-RMSc footprint is Glock-specific and is not interchangeable with standard RMSc cuts. For every other carry pistol with an RMSc-cut slide (Sig P365, Hellcat, Shield Plus, PPS, and similar), pick the RMSC variant. Both are priced identically at $199.95 for the standard Red 3 MOA.

What is the difference between the EDC and the COMP?

The EDC uses the RMSc footprint with a 16mm window for subcompact carry-class slides; the COMP uses the larger RMR footprint with a 27mm window for full-size and compact range or competition pistols. The EDC weighs 0.6 ounces, the COMP weighs 1.0 ounce. They share the same 50,000-hour CR1632 battery, +P and +P+ recoil rating, and IPX7 waterproofing. The EDC starts at $199.95, the COMP starts at $249.95.

Where is the C&H Precision EDC made?

The C&H Precision EDC is made in the USA. C&H Precision Weapons manufactures its optics domestically at its facility in Richmond Hill, Georgia.

What comes in the box with the C&H Precision EDC?

The EDC ships with the optic, a CR1632 battery, mounting screws, a mounting tool, a lens cloth, and product documentation. If you need specific hardware for your slide or adapter plate, Contact our team before ordering.

What pistols is the EDC compatible with?

The RMSc-footprint variants fit any pistol with an RMSc-cut slide, including the Sig P365 family, Springfield Hellcat (with RMSc cut), S&W M&P Shield Plus, Walther PPS, and most other micro-compact optics-ready carry pistols. The GLX-RMSc variant fits Compact Glock G43X and G48 MOS cuts only. For non-RMSc-cut pistols, C&H Precision offers slide milling services and direct-mount adapter plates.

Does the EDC work with night vision?

Yes. Brightness settings 1 and 2 are night vision compatible, allowing the EDC to be used with passive NV devices without washing out the reticle.

How long does the battery last on the EDC?

Up to 50,000 hours on the lowest brightness setting, using a single CR1632 3V lithium battery. That is approximately 5.7 years of continuous use before battery replacement. The battery tray loads from the side of the housing, so you can swap batteries without removing the optic from the slide and re-zeroing.

Does the EDC require an FFL to purchase?

No. Optics are not regulated firearms and ship directly to your address in all 50 states. No FFL transfer required.

What is the warranty on the EDC, and how are claims handled?

The EDC is covered by C&H Precision's Optics Warranty. The metal housing and optical glass are warranted for the life of the product against defects in materials under normal, personal use. The LED illumination system is warranted for 5 years from the manufacture date. Warranty validation requires product registration with C&H Precision. Dealer-sold products, including purchases from 2A Daddy, receive the same full replacement warranty coverage as products sold direct by C&H. Our 30-day 2A Daddy return policy adds retailer-layer coverage on top of the manufacturer warranty. Contact our team or call 615-845-9127 and we will walk you through registration and claim handling.
