Built for shooters who want the window, not the compromise
Large-window pistol optics used to mean two things: blazing-fast target acquisition, and a fragile tube you babied off your belt. The COMP Max was designed to fix that second part. Machined from a single piece of 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, rated for +P and +P+ recoil, and sealed to IPX7, it delivers a competition-class sight picture in a housing that can live on a duty belt.
Designed in collaboration with competitive and professional shooters, the COMP Max shares the industry-standard RMR footprint, which means it drops onto virtually any optics-ready slide, milled slide, or adapter plate already built around that mounting pattern. If your pistol or mount currently accepts a Trijicon RMR, it accepts the COMP Max.
COMP Max vs. the Original COMP: What Actually Changed
C&H Precision's original COMP optic earned a strong following among USPSA and 3-Gun shooters. The COMP Max is the evolution of that platform, and the spec changes are meaningful:
- 28mm lens window (up from 27mm) for more glass and a wider field of view
- 2 MOA dot (tighter than the original 3 MOA) for finer precision at distance without losing pickup speed
- CR2032 battery (upgraded from CR1632), a larger and more widely available cell
- 45 MOA elevation and windage range, giving 90 MOA total travel for zeroing flexibility across a wider range of platforms
Battery life, build materials, waterproof rating, and shock rating are consistent with the original COMP's proven performance envelope.
Key Features
- Large 28mm Lens Window. A noticeably wider sight picture for faster target transitions, built for the shooter who is tired of threading the needle through a tiny tube under a timer.
- 2 MOA Precision Dot with Optional 38 MOA Circle Reticle. Multi-reticle configuration gives you a tight dot for slow-fire accuracy and a circle-dot pattern for fast close-range acquisition.
- RMR Footprint. Drops onto any optics-ready slide, custom-milled slide, or adapter plate cut for the Trijicon RMR pattern, the most widely supported footprint in the pistol optic market.
- 50,000-Hour Battery Life. A single CR2032 cell runs the optic for over 5.7 years of continuous use on the lowest setting.
- Motion-Activated Shake Awake. The optic powers on instantly when it detects movement. No buttons, no wake-up lag, no dead dot when you need it.
- 10 Brightness Settings with NV Compatibility. Levels 1 and 2 are night vision compatible for low-light and NV-equipped operators.
- Rated for +P and +P+ Loads. Built to survive high-pressure defensive and duty ammunition.
- IPX7 Waterproof. Fully submersible to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Rain, mud, and weather-proof.
- 7075-T6 Single-Piece Housing. CNC-machined from one piece of aircraft-grade aluminum for maximum rigidity and durability.
- Made in the USA. Manufactured domestically by C&H Precision Weapons.
- C&H Precision Lifetime Warranty. Covered by C&H's lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Who the COMP Max Is For
Competition Shooters
USPSA, 3-Gun, Steel Challenge, and action pistol disciplines where the larger window shaves meaningful time off target transitions and keeps both eyes open, both targets visible.
Duty and Professional Use
Law enforcement, armed security, and professional operators who want competition-style sight picture speed without trading away the ruggedness of a duty optic. The IPX7 rating and +P+ recoil rating mean it will not be the weakest link on the belt.
Everyday Carry and Home Defense
If you have found a traditional window-style optic too small for fast pickup under stress, the COMP Max solves that problem without adding meaningful bulk. At 1.83 ounces, it sits comfortably on compact and full-size carry platforms alike.
Night Vision Operators
Brightness levels 1 and 2 are NV compatible, making the COMP Max viable on a NVG-equipped host platform.

Compatibility
The COMP Max uses the Trijicon RMR footprint, which is supported by:
- Optics-ready slides from Glock MOS, CZ, Sig, HK, Smith & Wesson, Walther, Taurus, and other major manufacturers. Check your slide's specific optic cut, since RMR is the most commonly supported but not universal.
- RMR-cut adapter plates
- Custom-milled RMR-footprint slides
- Most PCC and shotgun mounts designed for the RMR pattern

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The COMP Max was developed in collaboration with competitive shooters specifically for USPSA, 3-Gun, Steel Challenge, and similar disciplines. The 28mm window and 2 MOA dot are optimized for fast target transitions while maintaining precision at distance.
The COMP Max has a larger 28mm lens (vs. 27mm), a tighter 2 MOA dot (vs. 3 MOA), uses a CR2032 battery (vs. CR1632), and offers a wider 90 MOA total adjustment range. Build materials, 50,000-hour battery life, shock rating, and IPX7 waterproofing are consistent between the two.
The C&H Precision COMP Max is made in the USA. C&H Precision Weapons manufactures its optics domestically at its facility in Richmond Hill, Georgia.
The COMP Max ships with the optic, a CR2032 battery, mounting screws, a mounting tool, a lens cloth, and product documentation. If you need specific hardware for your slide or adapter plate, Contact our team before ordering.
Yes. Brightness settings 1 and 2 are night vision compatible, allowing the COMP Max to be used with passive NV devices without washing out the reticle.
Any pistol with a slide cut for the Trijicon RMR footprint, or any optics-ready pistol using an RMR-cut adapter plate. This includes most major Glock MOS, CZ, Sig Sauer, HK, Smith & Wesson, Walther, and Taurus optics-ready variants.
The COMP Max is rated for +P and +P+ ammunition, IPX7 waterproof (submersible to 1 meter for 30 minutes), and built from single-piece 7075-T6 aluminum. These ratings meet or exceed typical duty requirements. Individual agency approval is a separate matter. Check with your department before deploying.
Up to 50,000 hours on the lowest brightness setting, using a single CR2032 3V lithium battery. That is approximately 5.7 years of continuous use before battery replacement.
