The 2AD Plinky is a 5.3-inch, 5.2-ounce direct-thread rimfire suppressor with a .995-inch diameter, deliberately engineered to slip just under the one-inch profile mark. It is rated for .22 LR, .22 WMR, .17 HMR, .17 WSM, and 5.7x28, with full-auto ratings on .22 LR. The body is a single, weld-free, monolithic structure printed in NovaNap™, a ceramic-reinforced superalloy.

The Material: NovaNap™ Ceramic-Reinforced Superalloy

At the heart of the Plinky is NovaNap™, our ceramic-reinforced superalloy metal matrix composite offering superior strength with high-temperature creep resistance and excellent corrosion resistance.

This material platform is derived from alloys that have been developed and utilized across U.S. government-funded aerospace, defense, energy, and naval programs, where performance under extreme heat, pressure, and corrosive environments is critical. Applications for this class of materials include:

Rimfire ammunition is notoriously dirty, producing a combination of lead particulate, carbon, and wax lubricants that accumulate inside any suppressor. NovaNap™ does not eliminate fouling. It changes how the suppressor handles it. The material's high hardness, thermal stability, and refined internal structure help reduce deep fouling adhesion compared to softer materials. More importantly, it allows the suppressor to withstand aggressive cleaning methods, including ultrasonic and chemical processes, without degradation or structural compromise.

Compatibility

The Plinky uses 1/2x28 direct-thread mounting and is rated for .22 LR, .22 WMR, .17 HMR, .17 WSM, and 5.7x28 ammunition.

Confirmed compatible host platforms:

• Rimfire pistols with 1/2x28 threaded barrels (Ruger Mark IV, Ruger 22/45, S&W Victory, Browning Buck Mark, Beretta NEOS, and similar)
• Rimfire rifles with 1/2x28 threaded barrels (Ruger 10/22 Takedown threaded models, Tikka T1x, CZ 457, Savage Mark II, and similar)
• Threaded .17 HMR and .22 WMR rifles using 1/2x28 (Ruger 10/22 Magnum, CZ 455 .17 HMR, Volquartsen, and similar)
• FN Five-seveN family (Mk2, Mk3) and other 5.7x28 pistols on 1/2x28 thread
• FN PS90 and similar 5.7x28 carbine platforms with 1/2x28 muzzle device
• AR pistol-caliber 5.7x28 platforms with 1/2x28 muzzle thread

Caliber and platform considerations:

• Full-auto rated for .22 LR.
• Use only with the rated calibers listed above. Do not use with calibers or loads outside the published rating.
• Direct thread only. The Plinky does not include or accept aftermarket QD mount adapters.
• Suppressor barrel-length restrictions: none. The Plinky may be used with any barrel length appropriate for the rated calibers.
