Built for AR owners who want a real trigger upgrade, not a 30-minute install fight

Most drop-in AR triggers ask you to chase set screws around the inside of a lower with a hex key, juggle anti-walk pins, and hope the threadlocker takes. The RISE Rev 535 Slide-and-Snap AR Trigger replaces all of that. The cassette slides into a mil-spec lower, the built-in pins lock with anti-walk and anti-rotation security, and the trigger is ready to break in under 60 seconds. Single-stage, 3 to 3.5 lb pull, no tools required, and both flat and curved blade faces are included in the box so you can pick your feel or change it later.

Compatibility is straightforward: any AR-15 or AR-10 with mil-spec receiver dimensions and the small (.154 inch) pin size accepts the Rev 535 directly. If your lower is the Colt large-pin (.170 inch) pattern, this is not your trigger. Full compatibility detail, including the AR9 PCC platforms RISE confirms in its FAQ, is in the Compatibility section below.

Rev 535 vs. the Original RA-535 APT: What Actually Changed

The RA-535 Advanced-Performance Trigger has been RISE's flagship single-stage trigger since SHOT Show 2015. It earned the "Ferrari of triggers" nickname for a reason. The Rev 535 is the second-generation rebuild, keeping the trigger mechanics that made the APT famous and replacing the install system entirely.

  • Install system (set screws and anti-walk pins on the APT, built-in pins on the Rev 535). No hex keys, no Loctite, no torque spec to remember.
  • Blade face (fixed blade on the APT, interchangeable flat and curved blades on the Rev 535). TorLok mechanical and magnetic retention swaps blade faces in seconds without tools.
  • Internal coating (Nickel Teflon on the APT, Nickel Boron on the Rev 535). The upgrade RISE specifies for the new design.

What stayed the same: single-stage architecture, 3 to 3.5 lb pull weight, NoWay take-up at the sear, Quik-Klik audible and tactile reset, S7 tool steel internals, 6061 aerospace aluminum housing, the lifetime manufacturing warranty, and the 30-day performance guarantee.

Key Features

  • Slide-and-Snap Drop-In Cassette. A next-generation drop-in design that slides into a mil-spec lower and snaps into place. Install completes in under 60 seconds on most lowers, often without removing the grip or safety selector.
  • Built-in Pins for Rapid Install (Patent Pending). Integrated anti-walk, anti-rotation pins. No loose hardware, no hex keys, no threadlocker, no torque spec, no set-screw backout to worry about under recoil.
  • Interchangeable Flat and Curved Blade Faces (Patent Pending). Both blade faces ship in the box. You are not choosing one or the other at the cart. Swap them in seconds without tools using TorLok mechanical and magnetic retention.
  • Single-Stage 3 to 3.5 lb Pull. The same competition-grade pull weight that made the RA-535 APT famous, now in the second-generation Rev 535 cassette. Predictable, repeatable, and tuned for fast follow-up shots.
  • NoWay Take-Up. Trigger movement begins at the sear. There is no slack, no creep, no wasted motion before the break.
  • Quik-Klik Reset. Short, audible, and tactile. You feel the reset under your trigger finger and hear it, which supports faster follow-up shots in run-and-gun, competition, and defensive contexts.
  • Nickel Boron Coated, Heat-Treated S7 Tool Steel Internals. S7 is a high-impact tool steel; the Nickel Boron coating reduces friction, increases surface hardness, and improves long-term wear resistance. Some variants pair the NiB internals with a black nitride blade base finish.
  • 6061 Aerospace Aluminum Housing. Precision-machined from solid billet, anodized. Aerospace-grade rigidity in a drop-in package.
  • Mil-Spec Small Pin (.154 inch) Compatible. Fits AR-15 and AR-10 receivers built to mil-spec dimensions. Does not fit Colt large-pin (.170 inch) lowers. See Compatibility section for the full receiver-side detail.
  • Made in the USA. Manufactured domestically by RISE Armament in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. RISE is recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor for its veteran hiring practices.
  • RISE Lifetime Warranty Plus 30-Day Performance Guarantee. The lifetime manufacturing warranty covers failures regardless of round count or use history. On top of that, RISE backs the trigger with a 30-day More-Bang-for-Your-Buck Performance Guarantee: if it does not deliver no take-up, a crisp break, and a fast tactile reset, RISE will buy it back or replace it.

Who the Rev 535 Is For

AR Owners Doing a Drop-In Trigger Upgrade

The primary audience. If you are running a mil-spec single-stage trigger on an AR-15 or AR-10 and you want a cleaner break, a tactile reset, and an install that does not require a gunsmith's bench, the Rev 535 is the targeted upgrade. The lineage runs through the RA-535 APT, which has been the go-to competition-grade single-stage in the RISE lineup since 2015. The Rev 535 carries that pull-weight and reset feel forward and removes the most common install pain point (set screws backing out under recoil) by replacing it with built-in anti-walk and anti-rotation pins.

Competition and 3-Gun Shooters

For USPSA, 3-Gun, Steel Challenge, and similar disciplines where shot-to-shot speed and predictable trigger feel decide stages, the Rev 535's NoWay take-up, ultra-crisp single-stage break, and Quik-Klik short audible reset are tuned for exactly this use. The interchangeable flat and curved blade faces let you match the trigger geometry to your hold and finger placement, then change it later if your grip evolves. Pull weight stays in the 3 to 3.5 lb competition window across both blade-face configurations.

Duty and Home-Defense AR Users

For armed citizens running an AR for home defense, and for off-duty officers carrying an AR for patrol or response use, the Rev 535's S7 tool steel internals, Nickel Boron coating, lifetime manufacturing warranty, and rated-for-defensive-use single-stage pull are the right combination. Note: this trigger is "rated for" defensive use by virtue of its construction and warranty, not certified for any specific agency or regulatory standard. Departmental approval, if your role requires it, sits with your unit.

Hunters Running an AR Platform

For .223/5.56, 300 BLK, .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, and similar AR-platform hunting builds, the Rev 535's predictable single-stage pull and fast reset support the kind of confident follow-up shot work the AR was designed for. The crisp break helps at distance; the audible tactile reset helps when a recovery shot matters.

If You Want a Precision or Long-Range Trigger

The Rev 535 is single-stage. RISE's own recommendation for precision and long-range target shooting is the ICONIC Independent Two-Stage Trigger, which adds a deliberate first-stage prep before the wall and the break. If your build is a bench gun, a tripod-supported precision rifle, or a benchrest competition setup, look at the ICONIC instead. The Rev 535 is the wrong trigger for that use.

Rev 535 vs. RA-535 APT vs. Blitz: Which RISE AR Trigger Is Right for You?

Feature Rev 535 RA-535 APT Blitz
Use case Drop-in upgrade with zero-tool install Competition and duty (original APT design) Top-tier performance at a lower price point
Pin size compatibility Mil-spec small (.154 inch) only Mil-spec small (.154 inch) only Mil-spec small (.154 inch) only
Install system Slide-and-Snap with built-in pins (no tools) Drop-in with anti-walk pins (hex key required) Drop-in with included anti-walk pins, no set screws
Pull weight 3 to 3.5 lb single-stage 3.5 lb single-stage 3 to 3.5 lb single-stage
Blade options Flat and curved both included, swappable Single fixed blade per variant Hybrid blade (curved and flat geometry combined)
Internal coating Nickel Boron on S7 tool steel Nickel Teflon on S7 tool steel Black nitride on S7 tool steel
Best for Buyers who want the cleanest install on the market today Buyers committed to the original APT trigger feel Buyers who want APT-tier performance at a lower entry price
Price $279.95 $259.95 $209.95
Short answer: Pick the Rev 535 if you want the fastest, cleanest install on the market and the flexibility of both flat and curved blade faces in the box. Pick the RA-535 APT if you are committed to the original Nickel Teflon Ferrari-of-triggers feel and you do not mind the traditional anti-walk-pin install. Pick the Blitz if you want APT-tier performance at a lower entry price and you are comfortable with a single-blade hybrid geometry instead of swappable blade faces.

Compatibility

The Rev 535 uses the mil-spec small (.154 inch) trigger pin size, which is the standard for AR-15 and AR-10 lowers manufactured to mil-spec dimensions. It does not fit Colt large-pin (.170 inch) lowers without modification, and we do not recommend attempting to adapt it. Beyond pin size, the Rev 535 is supported by:

  • AR-15 and AR-10 receivers with mil-spec dimensions. The vast majority of modern AR lowers in the U.S. retail market are mil-spec small-pin. Common compatible chamberings include .223/5.56, 300 BLK, .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6mm ARC, and similar AR-platform calibers.
  • AR9 pistol caliber carbines (PCC). Per RISE's published FAQ, all RISE drop-in triggers are compatible with AR9 platforms, including the Rev 535. The Rev 535 works in 9mm PCC builds with mil-spec lower dimensions.
  • Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22. Per RISE's FAQ, all RISE drop-in triggers are compatible with the M&P 15-22 .22 LR platform.
  • What it does not fit: Colt large-pin (.170 inch) lowers, billet lowers built to non-mil-spec internal dimensions, and lowers with non-standard hammer or trigger pocket geometry. If your lower predates the modern mil-spec consolidation or is a clone of an early Colt SP1 pattern, check pin size before ordering.

Not sure whether your lower is mil-spec small-pin or Colt large-pin? Contact our team or call us at 615-845-9127. We will walk you through identifying your pin size before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the RISE Rev 535 a good upgrade trigger for my AR?

Yes, if your goal is a cleaner single-stage break and a faster tactile reset than the mil-spec trigger your AR shipped with. The Rev 535 is the second-generation rebuild of the RA-535 Advanced-Performance Trigger, which has been RISE's flagship competition-grade single-stage since 2015 and is widely regarded across competition, duty, and home-defense use. The Rev 535 keeps the APT's trigger mechanics, adds interchangeable flat and curved blade faces, and replaces the traditional anti-walk-pin install with built-in pins that install in under 60 seconds without tools. It is backed by RISE's lifetime manufacturing warranty plus a 30-day More-Bang-for-Your-Buck Performance Guarantee.

What is the difference between the Rev 535 and the original RA-535 APT?

The Rev 535 keeps the RA-535 APT's single-stage 3 to 3.5 lb pull, NoWay take-up, and Quik-Klik audible tactile reset, then changes three things. The install system is new (built-in anti-walk and anti-rotation pins replace the APT's set-screws and separate anti-walk pins). The blade face system is new (flat and curved blade faces are both included and swappable on the Rev 535; the APT ships with a single fixed blade per variant). The internal coating is new (Nickel Boron on the Rev 535, Nickel Teflon on the APT). Pull-weight feel and reset feel are the same; the install experience and the blade-face flexibility are upgraded.

Is the Rev 535 single-stage or two-stage, and which should I pick?

The Rev 535 is a single-stage trigger. Single-stage triggers like the Rev 535 prioritize predictable, identical pulls every time you press the trigger, which is what most defensive, competition, and general-purpose AR work calls for. Two-stage triggers add a deliberate first-stage prep before a firmer wall and break, which is what most precision and long-range target shooters prefer because the first-stage take-up helps confirm sight picture before commitment. RISE's two-stage trigger is the ICONIC Independent Two-Stage; if your build is a precision rifle or benchrest setup, look at the ICONIC instead of the Rev 535.

What AR platforms is the Rev 535 compatible with?

AR-15 and AR-10 receivers built to mil-spec dimensions with the small (.154 inch) trigger pin size. That covers the vast majority of modern AR-15 and AR-10 lowers in the U.S. market. Compatible chamberings include .223/5.56, 300 BLK, .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, and similar AR-platform calibers. AR9 pistol caliber carbines (9mm PCC builds with mil-spec lower dimensions) are also compatible per RISE's published FAQ, as is the Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22. The Rev 535 does not fit Colt large-pin (.170 inch) lowers. If you are unsure whether your lower is mil-spec small-pin or Colt large-pin, contact our team and we will help you identify it before you order.

Is the Rev 535 a drop-in trigger?

Yes, with a key upgrade. Traditional drop-in AR triggers still require you to install separate anti-walk pins or set screws after dropping the cassette into the lower. The Rev 535's pins are built into the cassette, so the install is genuinely tool-free: slide the cassette into the lower, snap it down, and the anti-walk and anti-rotation security is already in place. Install completes in under 60 seconds on most mil-spec lowers and often does not require removing the grip or safety selector.

Is the Rev 535 a forced-reset trigger (FRT)?

No. The Rev 535 is a standard single-stage drop-in trigger. Forced-reset triggers (FRTs) are a separate category of trigger with mechanically assisted reset, and they have been subject to ongoing regulatory scrutiny from the ATF. The Rev 535 is not an FRT and is not regulated under any of the rulemaking that has applied to forced-reset products.

Where is the RISE Rev 535 made?

The RISE Rev 535 is made in the USA. RISE Armament manufactures its products domestically at its facility in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. RISE has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor for its veteran hiring practices.

Does the Rev 535 require an FFL to purchase?

No. The Rev 535 is a non-NFA AR part. It ships directly to you in all 50 states, subject to applicable state restrictions on AR parts. California ship-to addresses may be restricted under California state law (AB 1263) for AR-specific parts; if your shipping address is in California, contact our team before ordering so we can confirm we can fulfill to your address.

What comes in the box with the Rev 535?

The Rev 535 ships as a single drop-in cassette with the blade base color of your selected variant, plus both a flat blade face and a curved blade face. You are not choosing between flat and curved at the cart; both come in the box and swap in seconds via TorLok mechanical and magnetic retention. The cassette has the anti-walk and anti-rotation pins built in, so no separate hardware is required for the install.

What is the warranty on the Rev 535, and how are claims handled?

The Rev 535 is covered by two stacked guarantees from RISE. The RISE Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty covers failures regardless of round count or use history; defective products can be returned to RISE for repair, replacement, or refund. On top of that, the RISE More-Bang-for-Your-Buck Performance Guarantee gives you 30 days from purchase to return the trigger to RISE for a buy-back or replacement if it does not deliver no take-up, a crisp break, and a fast tactile reset. Dealer-sold products, including purchases from 2A Daddy, receive the same full warranty coverage as products sold direct by RISE. Our 30-day 2A Daddy return policy adds retailer-layer coverage on top of the manufacturer's guarantees. Contact our team or call 615-845-9127 and we will walk you through registration and claim handling.
